Shoulder and Arm Pain
Inflammation of these areas is most often caused by a strain of the muscle tissue as a result of activities such as heavy lifting, over-use, or accidents. When areas around the shoulder, elbow, knee and hips are in pain, it may be a sign of Bursitis, an inflammation of the Bursa, a fluid-filled sac that lies between the muscle and tendon and skin, or between the tendon and bone. This condition can be either acute or chronic, and usually impairs Range of Motion in the joints affected. “Tennis Elbow” is not actually an injury from the sport, but a tendonitis of the elbow; it is often painful, but it can be treated with Chiropractic care. If the condition goes untreated, and physical activity continues, the condition will get worse. In most cases, when treated soon after the incident, the faster the elbow will heal.
